Description of business

KAKUMARU is a manufacturer of industrial rubber molded products established in 1955. It specializes in manufacturing a wide variety of products in small lots, from prototypes to mass production for various manufacturers.
Major applications are for submersible pumps, automobiles, ships, and other industrial uses.

Products and Technologies

Rubber compound

From general purpose to special applications

●Start from kneading! Optimal rubber production

Its compounding technology to knead various compounding materials for each application enables the company to provide rubber according to the specifications requested by the customers.
For kneading compounded materials, it takes advantage of its many years of experience in the timing and amount of additions and kneading methods. In addition, turnover is also performed to promote dispersion of the materials.

Some construction equipment manufacturers and pump manufacturers have spec'd in KAKUMARU's materials, and materials are also sold individually.

●Color blending is available upon request!

Custom coloring is also available upon request. Materials mixed into rubber mainly for decorative coloring are called colorants, and pigments are mainly used.
Pigments can be broadly classified into organic and inorganic pigments.

The company blends the most suitable pigment in consideration of weather resistance, heat resistance, and weatherability.

Rubber molding technology

Vulcanized bonded products are also available

Picture of manufacturing with supplied molds

●Possible to use supplied molds! Cost reduction

Molds used by other companies can be transferred for molding. Accumulated past know-how and compounding technologies enable the use of molding conditions to be matched.

●Small lot production available! Rubber Compression Molding

・Low cost: Due to the simple design, molds are not very expensive, and production costs decrease as production volume increases.
・Diverse materials: The flow-independent compression molding method can accommodate a wide range of rubber types.

Sample of vulcanized bonding products

●One process! Integrated molding of rubber and metal

Vulcanization bonding realizes high adhesive strength between rubber and metal or resin. High dimensional accuracy, shortened bonding process and beautiful finish are realized. The adhesive surface does not change its hardness like tape or adhesives, and the softness of the rubber is maintained while bonding to the target material.

Vulcanized adhesion also makes it difficult to peel off, so this technology is used for parts requiring flexion or other movement.

Manufacturing with simplified molds

Special purpose rubber sheets can also be manufactured

Samples manufactured with a simplified mold

●Cost reduction and quality confirmation

A simplified mold can be used for production. Compared with the main mold, mass production is not possible, however the initial cost for prototyping can be reduced.

By using this technology, it is possible to manufacture with the same materials and quality as mass production.

Rubber Sheets

●Rubber sheet production from small lots!

Rubber sheets can be produced using molds owned by the company. Upon request, Kakumaru can manufacture sheets with hardness and physical properties not available in general-purpose rubber sheets in small quantities.

KAKUMARU manufactures rubber sheets for applications ranging from soft to hard rubber, with electrical properties, flame retardant properties, and chemical resistance.
After prototyping with these sheets, it is possible to smoothly transfer to mass production with the same materials.
