Mr. Watanabe of WATANABE MFG. CO., LTD.
- Manufacture of prototype parts, finished products and proprietary products
L) Mr. Watanabe
R) Products
WATANABE MFG's strength is its ability to respond quickly to customer needs through proposals made by engineers from its three factories in Osaka, Tokyo, and Fuji. Now Watanabe is managing the company from a new perspective, drawing on the wisdom of people both inside and outside the company. He is developing new businesses such as "from office automation equipment parts to automobile parts" and "from machining to injection molding".
● Prototype part manufacturing, mold fabrication and injection molding
L) Mold fabrication plant
R) Injection molded parts and molds
In recent years, fewer and fewer prototype manufacturers are producing single products due to cost concerns. WATANABE is capable to handle everything from single item to mass-produced products. Watanabe said, "I think our company has been able to survive because we have never skipped a step, even for a single piece. We are glad to hear from our customers that WATANABE can do something when custometrs need them". The company plans to continue to meet customers' needs by machining for small-lot production and by manufacturing molds and injection molding for mass-produced products.
●The most important task is to show employees a future vision
L) Liquid Jet
R) Puzzle
What are the company's goals for the future? Watanabe said, "We had been in the business of making products only when our customers asked us to. We had been an order-taking company that had manufactured products only after receiving requests from customers."
Then the company has developed a product called "Liquid Jet" to fill with water or disinfectant and to spray a non-contact jet to hands. Sales of this product have increased rapidly due to the Corona disaster, which required non-contact disinfection. "Liquid Jet" has acquired a patent for its technology to use pump pressure for spraying from the bottom up.
Using its technologies, the company is now developing its next products. One of them is a small-sized puzzle in the shape of an animal. "I want to think about the next generation in our business as well and to show that adults are enjoying their work so that children will have hope for the future," said Watanabe.
