SOFT99 was established in 1954 in Osaka Japan, and became the leading manufacturer of car care and cleaning products for consumers. When competition in the consumer goods market has increased, the management studied ways to survive. "We thought the company would not grow further unless it expanded beyond car accessories," said CEO Tanaka. At that time, SOFT99 began receiving consultations and requests from different industries, prompting the company to turn its attention to the industrial chemical products business.

Using the surface modification technology it had cultivated through its car care products, the company developed a coating agent for industrial use.

An organic liquid metal is burned in a burner. The flame's energy creates a hydrophilic, molecular-level structure on the material's surface. So surface modification of olefin resins (which are difficult to adhere to, print on, or paint) facilitates adhesion, printing, and painting without a primer coating.

"Flame Bond" is highly regarded among those in the printing and adhesive industries as a "product known by those in the know" for small, medium, and micro businesses, as well as sole proprietors. It has great potential for future sales channel development.

Tanaka stated, "Industrial products satisfy very specific needs. We shall listen to each customer's problems, identify those who truly need the product, and thoroughly evaluate each product before adopting it."
