OSAKA FORMING made a major business transition from spring manufacturing to nut manufacturing, and then developed its own product, the "E-LOCK" anti-loose lock nut, by integrating these technologies.

The company has consistently developed its business with the idea of "creating a dream business". Now, with the three anti-loose lock nut brothers (E-LOCK, SMART LOCK, and TRES LOCK), the challenge of responding to diverse market needs continues.

The company has been manufacturing various types of anti-loose lock nuts for more than 30 years and knows both the benefits and opportunities for improvement. And the company used to manufacture springs. Okuno's desire to "work not to survive in the present, but to open up the future" has been realized in the form of a product, the "E-LOCK" anti-loose lock nut of the company's brandded product. Three plate springs of different heights are attached to the top of the nut to improve the anti-loosening function.

Today, E-LOCK is being widely used as a fastening component in industrial equipment parts, electrical appliances, skyscrapers, highways, bridges, bullet trains, and even linear motor cars, where vibration can be generated and where there is a possibility of loosening.

After product development Okuno thought "E-LOCK is a latecomer as an anti-loose lock nut. If we do the same way as other companies, we won't be able to sell it" and set up various initiatives.

 

The first was the upgrading of the product lineup. Okuno has increased the number of shapes and sizes and expanded its product lineup to the same level as that of the competitors. The second was the use of the media and participation in exhibitions. The company actively publicized product information through trade magazines, industrial newspapers, etc., and by participating in exhibitions.

Then E-LOCK became well known, the company developed "SMART NUT" in collaboration with other manufacturers and "TRES LOCK" as a cost-reduced version of E-LOCK.

"Our goal is to achieve quality assurance whether the appearance is finished according to the drawings and whether the product has the performance it should have," says Okuno. To this end, the company has introduced a number of testing machines and other equipment to verify performance, and all products are inspected by image inspection machines before shipment.

 

Okuno's aggressive challenge to meet market needs continued with his firm belief that "development is meaningful only when it is demanded by the public and the market."
